I met Ruwade and Marieska in 2019 and needless to say, we had a common liking – that would be dogs.

I did an engagement shoot of them in 2019 where they brought their pitties along, oh man it was the most adorable thing!

Ruwade and Marieska’s plans were sidetracked by Covid-19.  Their wedding was supposed to take place in the heart of hard lockdown, on April 25th, 2020. So they messaged me a few months into lockdown and let me know what their final date was, but that it would be a little different.

They said that they had legally gotten married during lockdown, but they still wanted to go ahead with the wedding day, but without the guests and reception. Like many couples, they will be doing a celebration with family at a later and safer time.

This meant we could plan the day around the sun, yaaaay! And the day begun at an accommodation venue in Wellington where Marieska and Ruwade were getting ready with their bridal party.

They decided to still not see each other on the wedding day until the ‘ceremony’. Is Ruwade’s reaction not priceless? Man, the guy did not hold back!

Ruwade and Marieska, many blessings on your journey ahead along with your amazing and beautiful pitties! I love the fact that Ruwade got you the dogs even when he wasn’t the biggest fan of dogs himself – I bet that has changed now that you both have a favourite pitty in the house.

May God bless you for many more years, Mr & Mrs Otto.
